The purpose of the music ministry and choir is to lead the congregation in song and to enhance the worship experience for the St. Edith Stein Community. We encourage the congregation to join in joyful praise through their singing. We also take time to teach the congregation new music and Mass parts throughout the year. TIME The choir sings for both the 9:00 and 11:00 Sunday morning Masses every week. We meet 40 minutes before each Mass for vocal warmup and song review. From September to May the choir members attend choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00. The choir also provides music for Holy Days, sacramental celebrations and other liturgical and faith formation events throughout the year. This is a year round ministry, though the Wednesday choir rehearsals stop during the summer months. We ask that all choir members prayerfully commit to regular attendance in this ministry including weekly rehearsals and singing at Sunday Masses. TALENT
Each choir member needs to have basic understanding of music theory and ability to follow sheet music
Each choir member also must have the ability to accurately match pitch
