FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What happens at the interview? How should I prepare my child?
This is not a test! The goal is to get to know your family better and go over any questions you may have. A member of our RCI team will ask your child a few questions about their understanding of their faith. The team member will explain exactly what is expected of your family in our sacramental preparation program. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss any issues you have. The interview will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
I am not married in the Church. Can my child still receive sacraments?
YES! We welcome you and your family to be part of your child’s sacramental preparation. If you would like information about having your marriage blessed (convalidated), please let Amy know when you come in for your interview.
I never received First Communion and/or Confirmation and I am now an adult. Is it too late for me?
It is never “too late” to receive the grace of the sacraments. If you would like information about receiving these sacraments as an adult, please let Amy know during your interview.
My family does not attend Mass regularly. Weekly Mass attendance is an essential part of your child’s faith development. There are many reasons why families do not attend Mass, and we welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your particular circumstances at your initial interview.
