The weekend of May 1st was our annual Stewardship Ministry Invitation. That's when all 1500 families in our parish prayerfully discerned and then made a commitment as to how they can best use their gifts to serve God and our faith community in 2010.
The theme, "Grow Where You Are Planted" is based on the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8:4-8) which encourages us to live faithfully according to the word of God. When we do so, we are like seeds that have been planted in good soil and we are strong enough to grow and bear great fruit for God!
Why do we have a Stewardship Invitation every year? You can find an answer to this question and others when you click on the section navigation to the right entitled FAQ's: Stewardship Ministry Invitation. There is also a downloadable form which lists all of the Ministry Opportunites that are available in the parish. If you still need to turn in your completed commitment form, you may place it in the offering basket next time you come to Mass. You may also turn it in at the office.
Check out our Stewardship Spotlights! Each week different people in the parish shared their stories of how helping out in various ministries changed their lives. Please go to the navigation menu to the right to read the stories of stewardship, written by Ragan & Michael Savedra, Mateo Martinez, Monica McMurtry, Claire Mello and Matthew DeForke. If you missed the witness talks on April 24 & 25, Jay & Cadence Morris and Kendra Roggow have allowed us to post them here as well.
If you have any questions about any of the ministries at the parish, please send an email to Cindy Belvedere, Coordinator of Stewardship, at cb@stedithstein.org or feel free to call us at the parish office at 281-492-7500.
